San Jose is not the epicenter of the Dot Bomb; San Francisco is. We have a much broader and diverse economic base here--while admittedly very much high tech. San Jose is the county seat for Santa Clara County. Cisco, Apple, Applied Materials, HP, 3 Com, Adobe, Sun--all are based in this county.
There is a lot to talk about in San Jose.
