The Texas side of the deal is a 137,199-sf warehouse/distribution center at 2325 Beltline Rd. in Carrollton. In Charlotte, NC, Easton gets an industrial building of more than 500,000 sf leased to Spencer Gifts, Randy Baird of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. tells GlobeSt.com.
The C&W team of Jack Fraker, Angelina Wright and Baird brokered the sale for Boston-based TA Associates Realty. Principal Eddy Easton handled his side of the talks. In keeping with Texas practice, the selling price is not available and in this case, the starting price for negotiations too is off limits.
The Carrollton property is 100% occupied by three Ford Motor Co. divisions and MEI Inc. Baird says it attracted eight offers from would-be buyers looking for a piece of the North Dallas submarket. In a prepared statement, Baird said "this property is probably closest to the epicenter of the affluent North Dallas growth corridor, which makes it an ideal location for consumer products companies and others."
Baird says Easton is looking at properties in several US markets. "Dallas-Fort Worth is one of their favorites," he adds. Easton is not alone in having eyes for DFW buys, he says, alluding to a pipeline for more closings from several fronts.
