"We have spent the past few months laying the groundwork for our next major projects--a substantial mixed-use development abutting the existing Kinzie Station project and a 864-home master planned community in Fife, WA," explains chief executive officer Lawrence Adelson. "We recently received zoning approval from the City of Chicago for an additional 1,694 residential units in four 25- to 34-story buildings at the Kinzie Station development."

Heartland Partners already has approval for a 267-unit building, which will be a rental property. A 55,000-sf grocery store and 30,000 sf of retail space is included in the project. The 1.8-acre grocery store site is under contract for $3 million, the company says.
