Baker tells GlobeSt.com that the plan is to build, build and build some more until the assignments are as plentiful as the mid-1980s when Henry S. Miller sold to Grubb & Ellis. Henry S. Miller has been gradually building its management portfolio since the expiration of the 10-year non-compete clause.
The current management portfolio consists of five million sf of office and retail plus 1,000 apartments, mostly in Dallas-Fort Worth. Baker says those numbers will triple in three years. She plans to use Houston and Austin offices, now manned by only brokerage services, to accomplish the goal as well as the acquisitions now being eyed by Vaughn Miller. Staff and assignments are in the offing in the renewed focus on the two cities, where some deals close to signing.
Baker has been with Henry S. Miller's multi management team for five years. In three years, she doubled the division's management pacts to 38 or two million sf. The most recent closing has been the Village at Colleyville, Realty Capital Corp.'s mixed used Main Street project totaling one million sf.
Sam Kartalis, CEO of Henry S. Miller Commercial, says Baker's track record won the title. "Doubling the amount of business every three years is a standard I can live with," he said in a prepared statement.
In another Dallas change, Mike Pierre is vice president of Wilcox Realty Group. He spent a short stint as a senior broker at Dallas-based Mohr Partners after exiting the former TrizecHahn. Pierre is assigned to Wilcox's 187,686-sf, class A Corporate Centre at 14911 Quorum.
