A second site is under contract, Keith A. Coelho, president and principal of Henry S. Miller Commercial in San Antonio, tells GlobeSt.com. He says the franchisee, whose name isn't being made public, is eyeing six locations in San Antonio as a launch for the Chicago-based repair service. If the market proves successful, the investor intends to branch out to other metropolises, confides Coelho, the lone broker on the deal.

Car-X, founded in 1971, has 185 stores in 10 states in the Midwest. According to the company's Web site, the estimated initial investment for a six-bay store is $250,000 to $310,000, excluding property costs. The San Antonio store, totaling 5,400 sf, will be positioned in a high-traffic area about a mile from the medical center.

The auto service retailer has been franchising the branding for more than 25 years. Its locations provide a full gamut of services, such as brakes, exhaust, road handling, steering systems, tires, tune-ups, air conditioning and oil changes for all makes of cars and light trucks.
