The new 726-unit storage structure won the blessing of the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC), which is orchestrating a massive overhaul of the underutilized Carroll Camden area. "Businesses are finding out that Carroll Camden is becoming a prime location," BDC president M. J. Brodie told the crowd of local political, business, and community leaders gathered at the grand opening celebration. "I congratulate Public Storage on the opening of its newest facility and thank them for investing in Baltimore."
Carroll Camden is a state-designated focus area, which means local officials can offer incentives to business willing to locate or expand in the area.
