Kansas City, MO-based HNTB, a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering and planning firm, had been looking for larger quarters to accommodate its growth in Austin. "HNTB will utilize our new space to broaden the range of engineering, planning and architectural services we provide out of our local office to mirror those the firm is noted for nationally," said Robert Wilson, associate vice president and HNTB-Austin engineer-in-charge.
Derek Silva and Alan Lacey, office specialists at NAI Commercial Industrial Properties Co. in Austin, represented the company in its expansion. Max Moss of Trammell Crow Co.'s Austin office brokered the pact for the building owner, OTR South Park One.
Southpark One is a 10-story building with 155,218 sf. Silva says that after a search, HNTB found appropriate space just five floors above its offices at Southpark One.
HNTB has more than 3,000 employees in 60 offices across the US. The firm's urban design and planning practice is the second largest in the country and includes more than 175 planners, urban designers and landscape architects.
