A spokesperson for the company tells GlobeSt.com that the new offices will serve as the company's US headquarters. The firm, which moved its offices from California, says it wants to be on the east coast to be closer to "many of the industry's largest and most influential players."
JAI vice president Henrik Ilsby stresses that the company is looking to focus on its North and South American markets and the new location is more conducive to covering those territories. He adds that the new space positions "JAI in the vision industry's global center allowing us to more easily gain and apply global know-how locally." The company is in the process of trying to develop a platform that will "sustain rapid growth" in the North and South American markets.
JAI was established in 1963 in Copenhagen, Denmark and has subsidiaries in England, Japan and the US. The company has annual sales of over $60 million and employs 250 people worldwide.
