In March, the Port of Port Angeles Commission reviewed the progress of the proposed hotel and conference center, which was submitted by Ehm Architecture. The new facility would be built on the Port's waterfront site, which is known as the Oak Street property.
The Port, City of Port Angeles, Ehm and Washington State Department of Natural Resources have been negotiating an agreement that would allow Ehm to move forward this year.
The proposal calls for a property exchange between the Port and DNR, as well as a long-term lease agreement between the DNR and Ehm. Both waterfront parcels in the land swap are 16,849 sf. If the deal gets done, the Port would also be paid more than $1 million.
A public hearing will be held to determine the outcome of the proposal.
