In a prepared statement, Mike Harris, Arkansas division manager of Stewart Title Guaranty Co., said "they have an excellent base of operations, working through one of the state's first computerized title plants. We are looking forward to working together to grow our business in the northwest Arkansas market."
Bromstad is owned by local attorney, Wade Williams, who will act as a consultant while continuing to operate his law practice. Bromstad's office manager Susan Clark believes Stewart's support will "provide an even higher level of service to our customers, the real estate professionals, lenders, builders and attorneys of Carroll County."
Terms of the takeover were not available by press time. Stewart Title is a subsidiary of publicly traded Houston-based Stewart Information Services Corp.
