The company's global services business, which provides management services and hosting facilities, acquired rival Hostmark in Sweden earlier this year and is currently building new facilities in Sydney, Australia. The Berkeley Heights center will be a 24x7 operation.

"Our goal is to be the outsourcing partner of choice for mission critical services for finance and energy markets," says Carl-Magnus Hallberg, president of global services for OM. "Our new Berkeley Heights center will put us in a position to pursue that goal.

OM's global services division currently operates 13 exchanges for customers around the world and has entered into an agreement to run the core clearing technology and operational support functions for the Sydney Futures Exchange.

Besides management services and hosting, OM expects to offer business continuity services (i.e., disaster recovery) at the Berkeley Heights facility, which is expected to be fully functional by the fourth quarter of this year.
