The five-story building will consist of 440-sf to 575-sf apartments that will rent from $450 to $600 a month. It will include 6,000 sf of common area, including a library, community room and dining area. It will be built on 713 and 719 N. Lawndale Ave. as well as 706 N. Monticello Ave.
"In addition to providing high quality and affordable-priced rental housing with services for seniors, it will redevelop a site that has been underutilized for years," says 27th Ward Alderman Walter Burnett in a statement.
Senior Lifestyle Corp. has developed nine other senior housing facilities, most recently in the South Shore and West Pullman neighborhoods.
