"Look at the market," Lidge tells GlobeSt.com. "Rents are aggressive, but so are the soft concessions. By that I mean like options to terminate a lease early. And there's the furniture systems situation. I was on tours of two buildings this year with tenants, and they said we want free furniture systems."
In some cases, the sublessor leaves the furniture behind for as an enticement for a new tenant.
"They can't get rid of it," Lidge says. "In other cases, the landlords are buying the furniture and offering it to new tenants.
