Williams assumes a post vacated in September by Richard D. Kincaid upon his promotion to chief operating officer. While Tuesday's announcement fills one key post, the firm continues to search for a successor to Timothy H. Callahan.
Part of Williams' duties during her four years as chief financial officer at Crate & Barrel included serving on the retailer's real estate committee. During her nine years at Amoco Corp., she also was a vice president and treasurer, which included overseeing debt financings as mergers and acquisitions.
"Marsha's extensive capital markets expertise, coupled with her experience at Crate & Barrel, provides us with a key member of the executive management team that is shaping the next chapter of EOP," says Equity Office Properties chairman, president and chief executive officer Sam Zell in a statement.
