Advanced Machining Technology Inc., a semiconductor business, is up and running at 2005 Lamar Dr. The tenant signed a three-year pact with sublessor, Mikron.

Mark Milstead of NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties Co. represented Mikron. and Scott Flack of the Gottesman Co. handled the tenant's side of the deal.

Flack says the deal was cut within a week of looking. "They decided that was the building they wanted," he says of the deal. It simply was the right space, Milstead agreed.

Advanced Machining specializes in machining, polishing, laser and fire-polishing of quartz and ceramic materials. It produces critical components for uses in the single-wafer and semiconductor industry. The firm employs five workers, but has plans to hire a dozen more.
