Kelley, a Sprint Corp. executive for 40 years and CEO at Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission for 2 ½ years, starts at a base sales of $120,000 and an potential annual bonus of $180,000.

He comes from Maitland, FL-based Milcom Technologies Inc. where he was the CEO for the past 14 months.

The six-year-old Enterprise Florida was born after the Florida State Department was dissolved in 1996. Gov. Jeb Bush chairs Enterprise Florida which is funded by tax dollars and corporate contributions.

State auditors have criticized Enterprise Florida periodically for its lax record of expenses. In a previous statement, Kelley says his organization will track expenses closely and disclose them openly. He couldn't be reached at GlobeSt.com's publication deadline.
