In the neighborhood of Roxbury, 75-79 Highland Street received a BRA partial Certificate of Completion for their project to rehabilitate two three-story buildings in the Kittredge Square Urban Renewal Area. Last year, the BRA issued a Request for Proposals for the two vacant brick buildings, in which it called for the sale and rehabilitation of the two vacant buildings, which were deemed "high profile anchors" on the block. The buildings have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1989. Wabash Construction, the project developer, is renovating 75 Highland into a three-unit condominium while 79 Highland will be sold as a two-family home. The project expects to be completed by September of this year.
The BRA also approved 47 units of housing and 42 parking spaces at 35-39 South Huntington Avenue in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Proposed by developer William Charbonneau, five of the 47 units will be affordable. The project site currently houses two concrete block sheds, a two and a half story office structure, and a parking lot.
In South Boston, developer Carroll Construction, Inc. received approval for its proposal to construct 13 residential condominiums, including one affordable unit and 17 surface parking spaces at 525-527 East Second Street.
