The 21-year-old shopping center's massive upgrade will be complete by the end of 2003. The last bit of the makeover entails the development of an approximately 18-screen AMC movie megaplex to replace AMC's existing 8-screen theater just outside the mall.
An earlier phase of the multi-million dollar endeavor included the addition of a 630-space parking deck to augment the mall's 6,500-space parking facilities. The city of Virginia Beach has committed about $11.5 million to Lynnhaven's redevelopment.
