Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo was given $100,000 to support the $72.5-million building campaign for the new College of Engineering, currently under construction. Also, Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN received $120,000 to support the development of the DENSO Vehicle Engineering Complex.

The grants will be distributed over a period of two-three years.

The foundation is a North American charitable group established by the Japan-based automotive supplier DENSO International America Inc. The foundation is part of a $5-million funding campaign for engineering education. More than $1 million has been given out to more than 15 other universities since the foundation began.
