Don Cassano with Waste Management tells GlobeSt.com that the company already has started moving its legal, accounting, operations and executive team for the Western region into the building. "We cover eight or nine western states and were looking for a location that would be affordable for employees, centrally located in the region and near a major airport that provided good connections for states within the group and Phoenix surfaced," he said.
Larry Mohr, Southwest Division president of the Weitz Co., said Weitz Lite, an offshoot of the firm, began work on the 23,132 sf of office space for Waste Management in May. The project's budget was estimated at $950,000. Construction on the three-story office building was completed in November 2001. The building at 7025 N. Scottsdale Rd. is owned by Lees Mayfield Associates of Phoenix.
