The minimum bid for the 221-acre parcel surrounded by Arapahoe National Forest is $250,000. The ski resort, which was open from 1959 to 1974, is between Evergreen and Idaho Springs.
It would be the closest ski area to Denver.
"It's always possible someone would want to make it a ski area again," Jim MacDonnell, executive managing director of Sheldon Good, tells GlobeSt.com.
"But I would think because it is surrounded by national forest, it might make sense for a buyer to swap it for more desirable land that the forest service owns that could be developed," MacDonnell tells GlobeSt.com.
