Soderstrom has set up what is believed to be metro Orlando's first genuine French real estate connection with the hiring of Catherine Metais, a former ambassador of goodwill at the French Pavilion at Walt Disney World's Epcot attraction.

Metais is Stirling International Realty Inc.'s new luxury shelter specialist in the Dr. Phillips Real Estate Showcase Center on Sand Lake Road in Orlando's main tourist corridor. She came to Orlando 10 years ago from her home in the Lorraine region in northwestern France.

Soderstrom, not known for his use of superlatives, calls Metais "a very knowledgeable real estate professional with extensive contacts throughout France and a terrific knowledge of that market."

He tells GlobeSt.com, "Disneyland Paris has exposed a whole new generation of Europeans to the American luxury lifestyle." Metais will focus on attracting French buyers for Central Florida luxury homes, farm properties and single-family or multi-family cottages.

"The Euro is strong and many sectors of the European economy are recovering faster than our own," Soderstrom says. "The market for Central Florida luxury homes in France is substantial and because of the differences in real estate values, there are many incredible opportunities for American buyers to own French luxury homes, cottages and farm homes" at favorable prices.

Stirling International, based in suburban Heathrow, FL, markets its own luxury shelter products and those developed by third-parties.
