"This investment demonstrates again that Virginia's East Coast location continues to be a major draw for distribution centers representing a variety of industries," says Gov. Mark R. Warner. State officials campaigned for the expansion to remain in the area and beat out Maryland, North Carolina and Tennessee to serve as the location for the multi-million dollar project.

State and local organizations will contribute nearly $1 million for the acquisition of additional land--about three acres were just purchased for the project--and necessary infrastructure improvements. US Foodservice has 85 distribution centers across the country with three other Virginia locations in Manassas, Roanoke and Virginia Beach.
