A Trammell Crow contact tells GlobeSt.com that the position has been vacant for some time. Jim Mahoney, also of the Phoenix office, will be managing director for the development side of the operation. McFarland's specific duties will entail overseeing corporate services functions, such as property management, leasing, new business and acquisitions.

McFarland has more than 18 years in the business as broker, developer and lawyer. Prior serving as city leader, he was a senior vice president of Trammell Crow's outsourcing services in Atlanta and Seattle. He joined Trammell Crow in 1998 after working in senior management positions at Ernst & Young, CRSS Inc., the Artery Organization and LaSalle Partners, now Jones Lang LaSalle.
