Ground is scheduled to break in a couple months, Gerald A. Teel, a Campbell Property Services' partner, tells GlobeSt.com. He expects the center will be finished in about eight months.

To date, there are no committed tenants, but the plan is to lure national credit tenants to the submarket. Teel says he and partners--Chris Lantz, Tim Treadway and Buddy Urban--feel the east side of town presents a good opportunity since it's now underserved by retailers, in their opinion. An estimated 26,000 vehicles per day travel along Normandy street, which leads to such affluent neighborhoods as Woodforest and Thornhill.

The center is all about Texas, with Texas stone veneer, Texas stars and native landscaping. Richard Vane of Osborne and Vane is the project architect.
