"Synnex had some very specific requirements for its new location," Ben Shapiro, senior vice president in the Industrial Services Group of Grubb & Ellis' Edison office tells GlobeSt.com. Grubb & Ellis arranged the transaction on behalf of the tenant.
"To begin with the company wanted to approximately double its current space," Shapiro continues. "It also needed an 'image' facility in which to service its customers, as well as a location close to major roadways in order to facilitate the distribution of products to its customer base in the region."
"We developed several solutions for Synnex management and ultimately, the access at Raritan Center was the key to the decision," adds Jason Levy, an industrial leasing specialist for Grubb & Ellis at its New Jersey headquarters office in Fairfield. While Levy and Shapiro handled the project for Grubb & Ellis, Federal Business Centers, the owner of 165 Raritan Center Parkway, was represented in-house by Tony Rispoli.
Synnex is a global IT supply chain services company that provides a range of outsourcing solutions to both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and resellers. The 22-year-old company is currently aligned with many of the industry's top suppliers of computer systems, peripherals, system components, software and networking products, which it distributes to its customers. Synnex is expected to be in its new space by the end of this month, according to Shapiro.
