Hovnanian Enterprises, based here, is one of the country's top homebuilders with a total of more than 100,000 units. Now run by Ara Hovnanian, Kevork's son and the young man's father, the company is also the largest homebuilder in the Garden State.
The medical center's overall expansion plan will cost a total of some $63 million, with the company's donation helping to fund the K. Hovnanian Pavilion and Emergency Care Center. The project will nearly triple the emergency department's size to almost 20,000 sf and will add specialized cardiac care facilities. Plans are to have a memorial to the deceased within the pavilion.
