Although figures were not disclosed, the project could easily exceed $100 million based on current costs for similar New Urbanism projects. Lincolnshire-based Timothy Morgan Associates is designing the mostly one- and two-story development that is expected to include restaurants. Other tenants are expected to include a pharmacy, a bank, a fitness center, a gourmet grocery, home furnishings, furniture and apparel stores.
"Barry Laskov, managing principal of Blatteis & Schnur, the leasing broker for North Shore Village, is lining up an eclectic mix of upscale tenants to provide the goods and services this community desires," says Brisbin, principal development director handling all development aspects, in a statement.
A deal with Ohio-based Madison Marquette that would have brought a shopping center to the corner across Waukegan Road from the order's seminary reportedly fell through last year.
The lease is expected to fund Society of the Divine Word operations. The future of the 780 acres of land that was annexed to Northbrook in 1989 is planned by Alper & Alper, Inc. That includes North Shore Village.
