Cascade already operates the Cascade West Grub and Ale House in Downtown Bend, as well as two establishments in nearby Redmond, one being its main brew house, and another in the nearby town of Sisters. The latest project would give Cascade Lakes five establishments in the popular Central Oregon region known for its skiing, biking, climbing and golfing.

If all goes as planned, the proposed site at the corner of Colorado Avenue and Century Drive will also include a second, 9,000-sf retail building that would be leased to three retailers catering to outdoor activities such as a bike shop, a snowboard shop and a skiing, snowshoeing and climbing outfitter. A small coffee shop is also likely, Kutella tells GlobeSt.com.

Preliminary timelines show a ground breaking just after the first of the year and completion by late next summer. Kutella says Cascade Lakes Brewing Lodge will be a multiple-story, full-service facility that serves liquor. It will include high ceilings, a fireplace and a healthy complement of the company's homemade beers. The project's designer is Bend-based Barber Barrett Turner Architects.

Officially, Kutella and Chris Cochran will own the buildings as individual investors and the brewery and the retailers will lease the space from them. Retailers will be asked to pay around $1.35 per sf per month, triple-net, while the brew pub will pay $1.55 per sf. Stephen Ford and Gardner Williams of Compass Commercial have the leasing assignment.
