Andrew E. Shapiro, founder and president of San Francisco-based investment advisory firm Lawndale Capital Management, LLC, has been added to Arlington Hospitality's board. Kenneth M. Fell, president of financial derivatives trading company K.F., Inc.,has been named lead director. They will join Dr. Salomon Dayan on a search committee for Holtz's successor.
Fell and former Ramada president and chief executive officer Steve Belmonte were elected to the board last month, prompting Holtz's resignation. Although Belmonte has been mentioned as a successor, the company is embarking on a wider search.
Most of Arlington Hospitality's properties fly under the AmeriHost Inn flag. In addition, the company has four AmeriHost Inn & Suites hotels under construction.
