The site has been divided into eight plots, and two have already been sold to the David McLean Group, which recently won planning consent for a scheme mixing large floorplate office space; residential development; cafes, bars restaurants and a new hotel.
Now, the city council wants to keep the momentum going by assembling the other plots of land before going to the market to find a developer partner. Councillor Andrew Coulson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration said: "We have to keep the momentum going to achieve our vision for Eastside. This demonstration of the City Council's ability to deliver change has now significantly increased the confidence of the property community and we now need to capitalise on that by assembling the new sites and bringing them forward for development."
