Tony Principe of Westcord says that Baja Fresh, which was recently acquired by Wendy's, signed a 10-year, $6.5 million lease for all of the space in the two-story class A building at 100 Moody Court, just north of the Ventura Freeway (101).
Principe represented both Baja Fresh and the landlord, TR Funding LLC of Westlake Village, Calif. He says the restaurant chain expects to move into the space at the end of September and will house 50 workers there.
Baja Fresh, which currently operates about 170 stores, needs the space because it has plans to grow considerably, according to Principe, who says the company expects to expand to more than 200 restaurants in 12 states by year-end. Designed by Neil Scribner of Thousand Oaks and being built by Squire Construction Corp. of Newbury Park, the Mediterranean-styled Moody Court is of steel frame construction and will feature four spaces per 1,000 sf of surface parking plus street parking.
