Gross revenues are the total amount wagered minus payouts.

August's take was 6.4% higher than the $60.7 million in August 2001 and only $973 less than the record July revenues.

Black Hawk's 20 casinos, as always, led the way with a total of $46.4 million in gross revenues, down from the $46.6 million in July, but up from $42.7 million from a year earlier.

Cripple Creek's 17 casinos set a record of $$13.7 million in August, eclipsing the previous record of $13.5 million set in July.

Central City's five casinos brought in $4.5 million, $600,000 less than the $5.1 million collected in August 2001.
