Morgan Services is relocating from a property across the street from McCormick Place, which will be expanding over the next few years.
First Industrial acquired the property in March 1998 for $5 million, according to property records. The REIT was represented by Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc. senior vice president Vernon F. Schultz, SIOR, and vice president Michael L. Senner. The deal also involve a move of an existing tenant that leases 98,000 sf from the north end of the property to the south end, according to Schultz.
In an unrelated South Side deal, Lakefront Supply has leased 33,000 sf at 2222 S. Halsted St., a move that involves a relocation. Mumford Properties, owner of the building, was represented by Gerald Olson, CCIM, of Epic/Savage while Howard Kaplan of Camin Tomasz & Kritt represented Lakefront Supply.
