Smith, who will split his time between the Insignia offices here and in downtown Los Angeles, is a 15-year industry veteran who joins Insignia from PMLA, where he held the same title as he has at Insignia. At PMLA he was responsible for program management for Aetna Inc. and was member of the management team on projects for Ernst & Young. While at PMLA, Smith also held the post of regional director of real estate for Pricewaterhouse Coopers on an out-sourced basis. He also formerly was director of construction services for Cushman Realty Corp., which has since merged with Cushman & Wakefield.
Robert Shibuya, executive vice president for the Western Region of Insignia, says Smith's appointment is a move by the company to expand its capabilities in corporate services.
