John Baird, vice president in the Austin office of Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co., represented the building owner, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Lance Sallis, a senior vice president in Trammell Crow Co.'s Austin office, acted for Schwab.

Sallis tells GlobeSt.com that Schwab had wanted class A space and better parking for its clients. The company looked at virtually all class A buildings in the downtown before landing at 100 Congress in a seven-year lease, he says.

The 411,536-sf 100 Congress building was built in 1987. It and the One Congress building across the street form the gateway to downtown from the south. The 130,000-sf Scarbrough building was built in 1910.
