Dun, formerly a regional vice president at Koll, says the new firm's first assignment is a two-building, 17,000-sf, build-to-suit flex office project in Pasadena. The project is a new engineering and R&D building for Kinemetrics Inc., a manufacturer of earthquake sensing equipment and related devices whose instruments are used to monitor structures around the world, including the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Sphinx in Egypt and India's Taj Mahal.

Dun's experience includes work on the Premier Automotive Group North American Headquarters for the Ford Motor Co. as well as many other corporate and commercial projects. He says Coast Pacific will provide pre-construction services in addition to construction.

Koll Construction was one of the oldest names in the Southern California building industry. Donald Koll sold the company to senior executives earlier this year in order to focus on his investment and development firm, the Koll Co.
