The terms of the lease agreement were not released. The 25,000-sf store will be located in the Lincoln Plaza shopping center, a 57-year-old development that was the city's first shopping center. The 450,000-sf center was redeveloped nearly two years ago by Lincoln Plaza Group LLC for $50 million.
The store is scheduled to open this coming April and will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a café. Mitchell Klipper, chief operating officer of the New York-based bookstore chain emphasizes that the company's focus is on making the store an "integral part of the community."
Barnes & Noble operating 620 bookstores in 49 states and also operates 281 B. Dalton Bookseller stores.
