Jim Taber, owned of the Handley Feed Store, acquired the land at 3421 Erie St. from an out-of-area owner, Robert Easley, who was represented by Dennis Stanley of Ebby Halliday. The buyer's broker, Frank G. Jester II of Dunn Commercial LP in Arlington, tells GlobeSt.com that his longtime business acquaintance called ASAP when the sign went up next door.

The plan, for now, is to use the site for storage, but that could change, Jester said, as the east Fort Worth neighborhood works toward revitalization. The Fort Worth businessman primarily was looking to grab a neighboring tract, near the intersection of Interstate 820 and Lancaster Avenue, should he decide to expand the store, now in the 8,000-sf category. The neighborhood on the fringes of the Fort Worth CBD was added to the National Register of Historic Places in early 2002.
