Summit will relocate from 2626 Program Dr. in Dallas to 2646 Manana Dr., a deal that came to the Dallas-based TIG Real Estate Services team of John Lancaster and Tom C. Smolik when the wholesaler's broker inquired about the vacant building owned by Knickerbocker Properties Inc. of Dallas.
Lancaster tells GlobeSt.com that the Albuquerque-based Summit wanted a direct deal so he and Smolik negotiated a buyout of a five-year balance with Barnett Inc. As a result, it took about four months before final signatures were garnered on the Summit agreement for the 28-year-old building.
Summit will relocate in mid-February, a move that will more than double its distribution space. Jim Svidron of the Robert Lynn Co. in Dallas represented Summit in the negotiations.
Summit, founded in 1977, has had a Dallas presence since 1987. The 21-service center network also includes locations in Fort Worth, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin and Killeen. In December 2002, Summit opened centers in Houston, LaPorte, Beaumont, Clute, Corpus Christi and Lufkin, all in Texas, as well as four cities in Louisiana.
