Russell Young and Mike Kennedy of Commercial Texas LLC negotiated for Ceshker and Mark Miller, managing director of leasing for Equity Office in Austin, acted on behalf of Chicago-based Equity Office Properties.
Young tells GlobeSt.com that the deal involved none of the months-long space searching so common these days. Much of the credit for the deal's quick week-and-a-half duration goes to the Equity Office representatives, he says. They went "above and beyond" in tracking down decision-makers to get questions answered, he says.
The 30-story One Congress Plaza at 111 Congress Ave. has about 518,000 sf. It was built in 1987.
Rents for downtown properties averaged $22.45 per sf in the 2002 fourth quarter, down from $23.50 per sf in the third quarter, according to the Colliers International market status report.
