In Barrington, where she was director of economic development, Blanchard became involved in the long-running attempt to redevelop the "Golden Triangle" site on the northern edge of the suburb¹s Downtown. Mid-America Real Estate Corp. pitched a proposal to build a mixed-use project there, but a change in administrations spelled its demise.
Blanchard also has made stops in the western suburbs of Downers Grove and LaGrange, as well as Highland Park on the North Shore and the northwest suburban villages of East and West Dundee.
