The 116,251-sf, Kroger-anchored center, situated at Texas 249 and Antoine Drive, is owned by NewQuest Properties of Houston. Heather Nguyen of NewQuest represented the property owner while the bank used Thad Davis of Ted Davis & Associates to bargain its side of the lease. The town center opened in November.
Compass Bank is a Birmingham, AL-based holding company with 344 full-service banking centers in the Sunbelt states of Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas. Texas accounts for nearly 42% of the bank's deposits.
According to Dallas-based Weitzman Group, about three million sf of retail product delivered last year in Houston, where occupancy is now 86%. Kroger as an anchor has locked in 83 locations in Houston, 16 of which were shuttered Albertsons.
