The City of Denver and Stapleton's developer, Forest City, received the 2002 James C. Howland Award for Urban Enrichment.
The award highlights and encourages community efforts that have preserved or enriched the environmental quality of life in cities and towns. Mayor Wellington Webb accepted the award.
Last week, the U.S. Conference of Mayors gave Stapleton its Public/Partnership award for its collaboration with the private sector.
