The Melrose Park, IL-based consumer products company is slated to occupy its space in the building at 9120 Mason Ave. this month, according to Chris Jackson and Todd Lorber of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s North Los Angeles office. Jackson and Lorber represented the building owner while Damian McKinney of eRealty Fund bargained the terms for the tenant.

Alberto-Culver will use the space for warehousing and distribution in an expansion from its existing facilities within Chatsworth. The company's lease leaves 105,852 sf vacant in the free-standing, 318,452-sf building, say Jackson and Lorber, who recently represented TA Associates Realty in its acquisition of the warehouse/distribution facility.

The asking rate is about 48 cents per sf per month, triple net. The building is a single-story, concrete tilt-up structure that includes about 24,000 sf of mezzanine office space.
