Center and Sheckter have already stepped into their new duties, in which they report to Mark Piscitelli, the managing director of the San Gabriel and Ontario offices, who is based in Ontario. Their positions are newly created in a bid by Grubb & Ellis to boost its presence in the market. The San Gabriel Valley accounts for nearly 158 million of the more than 897 million sf of industrial space in Los Angeles County.
Grubb & Ellis says one of the new management team's primary goals will be to expand the company's San Gabriel Valley operation. It expects to add 15 sales people to the office over the next two years. The office now has seven sales people and is one of eight G&E offices in Southern California. Overall, Grubb & Ellis has 275 sales people in the region.
Center and Sheckter have both been leading producers with Grubb & Ellis. Center has been with the firm for 29 years and Sheckter, 17. Both are members of numerous professional organizations. The two will continue to handle their respective client bases in addition to co-managing the office.
