The Herschend family founded the business 40 years ago. Among the 15 familiy-operated properties in five states are Georgia's Stone Mountain Park in suburban Atlanta; and singer Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede dinner attractions in Branson, Pigeon Forge, TN, Myrtle Beach, SC and Orlando; and Silver City Park, Branson.
The company's headquarters will remain based in Branson, with Manby coordinating the organization's investments from Atlanta. The names of the existing parks will remain the same.
Manby is the former CEO of Saab Motor Cars USA; one of the original leaders for the Saturn Corp.; and founder of Family Wise, a nonprofit, Christian family-oriented ministry.
