The $35-million facility will be the largest warehouse ever constructed in Redlands, according to Michael Daley of the Ontario, CA office of Colliers Seeley International. Daley tells GlobeSt.com that the distribution space will occupy a site of about 47.6 acres and be under one roof. It will serve as an expansion for Salton, an appliance distributor that now occupies about 150,000 sf in nearby Mira Loma.
Daley says the property also is the first site to be developed at the Redlands Business Center, a 227-acre development consisting of parcels of five to 55 acres available for sale or build-to-suit. Daley represented land owners and developers Bixby Land Co. of Long Beach and Western Realco of Newport Beach in the recent sale of the Salton development parcel to a development partnership, SRG Famille Redlands LP. He says construction of the new facility is expected to be completed by the third quarter. Fullmer Construction of Ontario is the general contractor.
Daley says Salton plans to move out of its 150,000 sf in Mira Loma when the new facility is completed. Salton Inc. is a designer, marketer and distributor of branded appliances including George Foreman, Toastmaster, Juiceman, Breadman, Farberware and White-Westinghouse.
