Richard Holway, who recently received the honor at a national awards banquet in Hawaii, took the ninth slot in sales volume out of the firm's 650 investment professionals. Holway accrued sales transactions valued at about $56 million. He also was sixth in the nation in the sale of multifamily properties.

"I've been fortunate to have some devoted clients and also been fortunate enough to work with the right people," Holway tells GlobeSt.com.

As a senior investment associate based in Phoenix, Holway joined Marcus & Millichap in 1992 and serves as a director of its National Multi Housing Group. Among his noteworthy transactions last year was the $5.8-million sale of Canyontree Apartments in Phoenix and the $5.3-million sale of Scottsdale's Pavilions. Holway said the secret to his success is "being fully devoted to your work."

Harvey E. Green, president and CEO of Marcus & Millichap, said it was that dedication that earned Holway the top honor. "Ric has established himself as one of the top multifamily investment specialists in the Phoenix market," said Green. "His standing as one of the firm's top producers is a reflection of his market knowledge, transaction expertise and commitment to client service."
