El Segundo-based Continental represented itself while terms for the restaurant's parent company, Dallas-based Brinker International Inc., were negotiated by Scott Manclark of Cypress Retail Group in Culver City. Brinker also owns Cozymel's, which has an existing restaurant in Continental Park, said Robert Tarnofsky, director of real estate for Continental Development.
Construction of the restaurant at 2301 Rosecrans Ave. is set to begin in mid-March. The Macaroni Grill is scheduled for a mid-September opening, according to Jesse Rehmeier, senior regional real estate manager for publicly held Brinker International, which owns, operates, franchises or is involved in the ownership of 1,350 restaurants.
The Atrium is a new five-story, 290,000-sf class A office complex within Continental Park, a three-million-sf campus-style office, retail and entertainment complex. Continental Development Corp. is headquartered in the development.
